4. Financial performance

MoEYS has received budget provision for the prioritized policies proposed in ESP/ ESSP. From 2000-01, the share for the education sector in the government budget has increased from 13.9% to 17.3% in 2004-05. This figure shows that RGC is paying more attention to the education sector. The share for the education sector is up to the level of the target of 19.5%.

The percentage of MoEYS budget for PAP has increased from 5.5% in 2000-01 to 27.9% in 2004-05. This indicates that in the last five years, the PAP budget has increased 4.4 times annually.
